      Interested in forensics? Learn about the role of DNA testing in overturning wrongful convictions. Since 2001 , the Northern California Innocence Project has helped 18 people prove their innocence based on DNA testing.

      Maitreya Badami, Assistant Legal Director of the Northern California Innocence Project, will describe how she and her colleagues promote a fair, effective and compassionate criminal justice system, and she will share some of the heart-wrenching personal stories of falsely imprisoned people they have represented.
