      EVENT DETAILS
Steinway Society – The Bay Area presents Mordecai Shehori

Steinway Society – The Bay Area, the non-profit organization dedicated to promoting excellence in piano performance and music education in the Bay Area, will bring South Bay audiences the rare opportunity to experience a live concert by Israel’s acclaimed virtuoso Mordecai Shehori. He has been internationally recognized for his sophisticated and inspired interpretation, and consummate musicianship. Having performed and recorded a wide-ranging repertoire, with 29 critically acclaimed solo published albums to date, Shehori cites his close collaboration and friendship with Vladimir Horowitz as a significant source of knowledge and inspiration, along with one-on-one sessions with such important pianists as Stefan Askenase, Gina Bachauer, Alexis Weissenberg, and violinist Nathan Milstein.

At this concert, Shehori will perform Jean-Baptiste Lully’s Suite de Piéces, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Sonata in E Major Op. 109, Frédéric Chopin’s Bolero in A Minor Op. 19, Claude Debussy’s Reflets dans l’eau, six works by Sergei Rachmaninov, and the Liszt/Horowitz transcription of Camille Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre.
