      The healthcare industry is rapidly changing due to a plethora of technological innovations. Come and hear from our panel of industry leaders how a once slow moving space is transitioning into one of the fastest growing and evolving of any out there. With an aging population and ever changing environment, you couldn’t find better timing. Our expert panel will walk you through the medical landscape and its evolution through their personal experiences, stories and insight. They will give you a much better understanding of why Silicon Valley has become a major player in healthcare. Panel: Erez Podoly, Chemist, Neurobiologist and Founder of Slive Inc. Dr. Podoly is an ambassador for changing the diagnostics landscape by transitioning tests from blood to saliva, which contains content that mirrors many of the current tests in blood. Dr. Podoly has a BS in Chemistry and MS in Biochemistry, specifically focusing on the field of cancer research, and a combined Ph.D. in Neurobiology and Structural Biology focused on Alzheimer’s research, all from the Hebrew University. At Stanford University, with Dr. Roger Kornberg, the 2006 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, Erez conducted postdoctoral research in nano-chemistry and electron microscopy and taught business and entrepreneurship at Stanford’s Pre-Collegiate Studies Program. Jonathan Sorger, Vice President of Research at Intuitive Surgical After growing up in San Jose Jonathan Sorger attended UC San Diego and Johns Hopkins University where he studied biomedical engineering. He helped develop and teach the first-year bioengineering Ph.D. program at Stanford University and later worked at Varian Medical Systems. At Intuitive Surgical, headquartered in Sunnyvale and the maker of the da Vinci surgical system, Jonathan helps interpret clinical needs regarding the development of next-generation surgical robotic platforms.   Moderator: Elina Lavit, Director of Project Management at MyoKardia   Food and Beverages provided
