      EVENT DETAILS
NorCal FIRST LEGO League Jr Expo - Nov 10 PM - Saratoga

TEAM EXPO REGISTRATION STARTS October 6 at 7pm pacific Participating in a FIRST LEGO League Jr Expo event allows you to see what other teams have done, gives you the chance to collaborate with other coaches and celebrates what everyone has learned through their experiences with the FIRST LEGO League Jr program.  There is no requirement that a team participate in a FIRST LEGO League Junior Expo. We have designed this NorCal Expo  to accommodate a maximum of 12 FIRST LEGO League Jr teams (and there is a minimum of 4 teams) to give participants the best experience.  Please remember that the Expo is a non-competitive and community-based program.    Tickets can NOT be refunded or transferred - please be careful in signing up.   Note that this Expo is at Saratoga High School Music Room and will be held in conjunction with the Saratoga FIRST Tech Challenge Qualifier (happening in Gym).  We will email detailed instructions/map on where to go to all registered attendees.     What is FIRST LEGO League Jr? It’s never too early to discover STEM. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math concepts. FIRST LEGO League Jr. is designed to introduce STEM concepts to kids ages 6 to 10 while exciting them through a brand they know and love − LEGO®. Guided by adult coaches, teams (up to 6 members, grades K-4) explore a real-world scientific problem such as food safety, recycling, energy, etc. Then the teams create a Show Me poster that illustrates their journey of discovery and introduces their team. They also construct a motorized model of what they learned using LEGO WeDo kits and LEGO building parts. In the process, teams learn about teamwork, the wonders of science and technology, and the FIRST Core Values, which include respect, sharing, and critical thinking. At the close of each season, teams come together at Expos to strut their stuff, share ideas, celebrate, and have fun! Come out and learn how our FIRST LEGO League Jr teams propose solutions to help the cities, towns, and places we call home reach new heights.  In BOOMTOWN BUILD, Teams will tackle the questions - What if you could build a better world? Where would you begin?   Learn more at www.firstinspires.org
